The plan was to have a tour of the Palais Garnier in the early afternoon. Unfortunately, on the taxi ride to Palais we realized the tickets were for tomorrow. The original plan was to visit today, but tickets were unavailable, so we got them for tomorrow, and forgot to update our itinerary.
So, we had some lunch near the Palais and then decided to walk
to the Rodin Museum. Along the way we stopped in to see the interior of the
Madeleine Church. We have seen it many
times but not the inside.
Views down to the Place de la Concorde from the steps in front of the Madeleine Church.
We stopped at the Grand Palais. It is a museum that, from the outside, looks like a massive greenhouse. Inside it is a museum and the area covered by the greenhouse is a massive convention center type room. Unfortunately, they were doing work in that room, and we were unable to get in to really experience it. But at least they had windows that gave us a view of the interior. We opted to not buy tickets to see tour the museum

The walk from there gave us views of the Eiffel Tower,
and the Hotel des Invalides.
The Rodin Museum consisted of a main house with many exhibits
and the large gardens...
with many of his larger works.

From there we decided to take a short walk to a nearby Angelina’s for hot chocolate, which we drank on benches in a nearby park, and La Grande Epicurie, where we bought more of their incredible cookies.
From there we caught a taxi and headed back to the hotel for
the rest of the day.
