It’s a lousy day today with overcast and mist. The plan was to visit Broek In Waterland and Monnickendam, two Waterland towns that are close together.
On the drive.
Finding parking in Broek was pretty easy and we headed out to walk around the town. By then it was raining pretty steady. It seemed to be pretty much a bedroom community, all housing, few businesses to be found and those we found were closed.
We did see a couple puttering along a canal in a small boat. Canal rides were one of the things listed to do in Broek. However, not in this rain.
After a bit of wandering we decided to head back to Hoorn and try for Monnickendam another day. The tree-lined road on the way back.
The elevator in our hotel. Most interesting...the elevator moves but the walls remain stationery.
