When we woke up this morning, we had a message from Tara that the room had been taken care of and to talk to Clare at the front desk. We talked to Clara and then went out for some breakfast at a nearby café on a square…very French.
Once we got back we packed up our luggage and moved it to our new room. Fifth floor with a view, such as it was, of Notre Dame. There are still large cranes and scaffolding around it as they are still working on it after the disastrous fire in 2019. But it’s a view.
It was a bit drizzly so we stayed inside for much of the morning.
At two, our Pierre, tour driver, arrived in our little Citroen with the top off.
But it wasn’t too wet, so we opted to leave the top off…better pictures that way. Pierre had quite a challenge at times as there was a major marathon going on in the city and many of the streets he had planned to use were closed. But we saw more stuff as a result of him trying to find a way from point X to point Y.
The Citreon at various stops along the tour.
The drive took us past many places we have seen and visited before…

A Replica of the Parthenon in Rome
And Le Grande Epicurie, an amazing supermarket with many food displays...
and an amazing bakery with gorgeous looking deserts.
The tour included a snack from the bakery here. Some truly amazing cookies from La Grande Epicurie.
And, of course, we took lots of photos of the streets and fountains and neighborhoods of Paris as we passed through.

The tour ended late afternoon. We were pretty full for the treats we got at La Grande Epicurie so we skipped dinner. More photos of our hotel room and view.
Early evening we took a walk over to Sainte Chapelle. One corner had giant mirrors set up to block views of some restoration work that was underway. The mirrors reflected the chapel and one actually had to look hard to see them.
We had tickets for their evening concert. It was a string quartet and a mezzosoprano. Excellent concert, no photos or videos of the concert allowed.
We walked back to the hotel, past the beautiful Notre Dame at night.
And we came across some skaters enjoying an evening of fancy skating. And we enjoyed watching them.
