On Tuesday we hung out in the hotel during the morning and worked on photos and visas and all manner of other travel related stuff. We wandered out for lunch and found a Chinese restaurant. Food was ok, nothing special.
Then we decided to take a cruise on the canals. We have done this before, but we have some
time so we decided to do it again. It is
a sunny day so it is a nice day for a cruise.

Never get tired of the picturesque Dutch buildings along the canals.
On Wednesday (Sep 3) we were scheduled to take the train to Haarlem. Unfortunately, the weather forecast said there was a 75% chance of rain there, so we decided to stay in and continue working. Hopefully, the weather will be better on Thursday.
For lunch we wandered down the street and found the Café
Karpershoek. This is the oldest café in
Amsterdam, founded in 1606. The interior
was definitely period…moody, old wooden beams, old bar, large tables for
sharing. Definitely atmospheric. They had a minimal menu, so we opted to share
a margarita pizza. It was pretty
good.
On the way back to the hotel we were gifted with a lovely rainbow.
On Thursday there were still projections of rain in Haarlem
so we stayed in sunny Amsterdam. We have
plenty to keep us busy. We had lunch at a nearby pancake place. They have very large pancakes...almost like a pizza.
And when Mary asked for ice they actually delivered.
